BENEFITS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Each Quodpod™ weighs ~400g (when empty) which is comparable to many traditional meal tray set-ups. The principal weight savings, however, come from the fact that each pod measures twice the height but only 1/3 footprint of a hot meal tray inside a trolley, meaning 50% more meals can be stored per ATLAS trolley (in total, 42 pods). This increase in storage density will allow heavy equipment to be removed from the galley, thus saving fuel.
